About Elora

Elora Grace Lencoski is an American conductor now based in Tirol, Austria, after graduating from the Luzern Hochschule Musik and the Mozarteum University Salzburg. She is a guest conductor with the Oltenia Philharmonic and has worked with orchestras such as Orchester Münsingen, Collegium Musicum Luzern, the Vratsa Symphony Orchestra, and the Shumen State Symphony, and she has participated in major competitions including Orchestra’s Democratic, Antal Dorati, and Hans Swarowsky. While studying at the Mozarteum and later in Luzern, Lencoski conducted ensembles such as the Stiftung Mozarteum Orchester, Austrian Ensemble for New Music, and Festival Strings Lucerne, and has participated in masterclasses with Vladimir Fedoseyev, Alondra de la Parra, and Alan Gilbert.
Her career and life were nearly ended in 2013 by a catastrophic bus crash, but after months in the hospital and years of recovery she continued her work as a conductor, singer, and pianist. She has performed as a collaborative pianist in Austria, Italy, and Germany, and was recently praised by OVB newspaper for her “technical abilities and a sensitive flair for tonal nuance” at the piano. This is her first solo appearance at the piano since her accident. Lencoski has also worked at Festspiele Erl as rehearsal pianist, stage director’s assistant, and assistant stage manager, and has been recognized for her scholarship with a GMTh prize-winning article on Clara Schumann’s Piano Sonata in G minor. Before moving to Europe, she studied voice and music theory at the Cleveland Institute of Music (CIM), where she was active as a singer, pianist, and educator with Cleveland Opera Theater, CIM’s opera department, and the CIM piano preparatory program.
